Scholarship Purpose: The Nancy Reiner Sparks Teaching Scholarship was established in 2008 in her memory by relatives, colleagues and friends. Nancy received B.S. and M.S. degrees in special education from ISU. She was active in Delta Delta Delta sorority and volunteered as their house mother for two years while teaching full-time. She was a military wife for much of her teaching career and thus taught in many cities, finally serving as a beloved principal in Virginia, where she and her school won several honors. Each scholarship candidate must be or have sophomore, junior or senior standing; have a cumulative grade point of at least 3.0; plan to become an elementary level teacher or administrator; and submit an essay. Preference will be given to active members of Tri-Delt. The award will be applied to the student's tuition and fees.
