Scholarship Purpose: The Anne M. Semlak Memorial Scholarship for Women's and Gender Studies Endowment Fund was established by family and friends in loving memory of Anne Marie Semlak, Class of 2001. Anne was very active in the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in political science with minors in both women's studies and peace studies. She won the Women's Studies Achievement Award in 2001. She worked with juvenile offenders to provide an alternative to the court system through mediation and was a coordinator of youth programs at a middle school and high school. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist undergraduate and graduate students who are active in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Illinois State University.
