Scholarship Purpose: The Bansau Trust & Scholarship was established in 2000. The Special Education Department will use the annual income in the following manner: to award annually, a scholarship of at least $3,000 to an entering undergraduate or graduate student pursuing initial certification through study in the Department of Special Education; candidate must be student who is: strong academic achievement with 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale; submission of typed essay describing the applicant's motivation & demonstrated commitment to teach students with disabilities; preference will be given to students with financial need & non-traditional students who have left a teaching or teaching assistant position to pursue initial certification in Special Education; add resources to other named scholarships; to be used at the discretion of the Department Chair for additional or other purposes as indicated in the will of Margaret Bansau.
