Ken Stier Engineering Technology Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Purpose: The Ken Stier Engineering Technology Scholarship supports a Department of Technology student who has a strong desire to pursue a career in Engineering Technology or a related field. Ken Stier was a professor in the Department of Technology at Illinois State University from 1981 through 2011. During that time he helped transition the Integrated Manufacturing Systems sequence into the Engineering Technology major and served as the coordinator of both programs. The student chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers established this fund in 1991 in the Department of Technology.

  • Applicants must exhibit a strong desire for a career in Engineering Technology or a related field..

  • Applicant must demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to be successful in the Engineering Technology field by displaying qualities such as amibtion, creativity, enthusiasm, and leadership through involvement in extracurricular activities, community services, internships, part-time jobs, etc.

  • Open to full-time students majoring in the Department of Technology with an emphasis in Engineering Technology with at least one semester remaining.

  • Applicant must be recommended by a faculty member of the Department of Technology.
