Miscellaneous Information
- Nominee must intend to complete a thesis or dissertation.
- The thesis/dissertation proposal must be accepted by the thesis/dissertation committee by April 1.
- Anyone who has submitted a thesis/dissertation proposal approval form by April 1 is eligible to be considered for the award.
- The thesis/dissertation chair will be notified by the KNR Graduate Program Director or Graduate Program Secretary of the student's eligibility.
- The thesis/dissertation chair must submit the nomination for the award prior to April 1 to the KNR Graduate Program Director. The nomination should include the following: A letter or nomination and recommendation for the award (including an assessment of the student's potential for completing the research agenda proposed by the nominee), a copy of the thesis/dissertation proposal form signed and dated by the committee members as forwarded to the Graduate School, an itemization of the anticipated expenses for data collection and/or dissemination of the research, a date-specific research schedule for data collection, thesis/disseration defense and graduation, a date and location specific plan for submission of the completed research as a student-authored presentation/publication at a national conference or in a national journal, as well as any additional information that provides evidence for potential research contributions (e.g. independent research projects/presentations, grant support, awards).
