Scholarship Purpose: The Mark Dunaway Dean's Scholarship for First Generation Students was established in 2021 to support a student enrolled in the College of Business at Illinois State University who is a first generation student. Preference given to students with demonstrated financial need.

Essay: An Essay is required towards applying for this scholarship.

Financial Need: This scholarship requires a student to have a Financial Need to be eligible to receive the scholarship. In order to establish "Financial Need", a student must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can file the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

This scholarship is not open to International Students.

• The Dunaway Family Dean's Scholarship for First Generation Students has several benefits above and beyond the financial award. As a recipient you are automatically admitted to the Honors College at Illinois State University. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to serve as a College of Business Ambassador of the Dean's Office. This is a $10,000 scholarship and is renewable for up to 6 additional semesters. An essay is required and finalists will be invited to interview. Must be a first-generation student to qualify; it is available to incoming freshmen only.
