Scholarship Purpose: Omron Foundation, Inc. (OFI) was founded in 1989 and coordinates the charitable efforts of Omron offices in the US to achieve the greatest positive social impact. The Foundation is funded by Omron's subsidiaries in North America, which contribute a portion of sales revenue to the Foundation. The Foundation divides its charitable resources among organizations benefiting education, people with disabilities, cultural programs, health, and other social concerns including disaster relief. OFI has supported Illinois State University through the establishment of an Omron Applied Safety and Ergonomics Laboratory, the Omron Bioenergy Laboratory as well as other initiatives. OFI would like to further contribute to the aims of the ISU Safety Program through an endowed Omron Safety Scholarship. Together with the Omron Applied Safety and Ergonomics Laboratory, we believe this will help make it easier for students to further their pursuit of the theoretical and practical application of safety science.
