Scholarship Purpose: The Wheeler Foundation was started upon the passing of Charles and Maxine Wheeler. Maxine, a special education teacher and Charles a psychologist, dedicated their lives to enriching and empowering students with learning and behavioral challenges. From 1964-2002, The Wheeler's operated The Wheeler Home Farm School in Rankin, where students resided and benefited from the educational expertise of Maxine and Charles. The Wheeler Foundation board was moved to establish this scholarship to ensure teachers will continue to be prepared to help those students that the Wheeler's were dedicated to and committed to providing a better quality of life.
