Odom to provide financial assistance to offset unforeseen costs associated with an unpaid student teaching position such as gas, travel, lodging or purchasing work supplies. These costs often prohibit a student from completing his/her student teaching assignment.

Financial Need: This scholarship requires a student to have a Financial Need to be eligible to receive the scholarship. In order to establish "Financial Need", a student must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can file the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

This scholarship is not open to International Students.

Miscellaneous Information

• o Student must be senior actively fulfilling a student teaching or on-site clinical requirement for graduation.
• o The grant will be rescinded if the student withdraws from their position for any reason.
• o Grant funds will be utilized to offset additional expenses incurred while student teaching, for example: paying for gas, lodging, travel, supplies or work clothing.
• o Applicant must submit a personal statement, of 300 words or less, describing the importance of minority males in the teaching profession.
