William and Linda Peine Lewis Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Purpose: This endowment was created in 2003 by William and Linda Peine Lewis to pay tribute to the excellent education they both received at Illinois State University. This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are enrolled as an elementary education or early childhood education major in the College of Education/Curriculum and Instruction Department at Illinois State University. Preferences will be given to applicants who are graduates of a high school from Kane, Clay, or Effingham counties in Illinois.

• Demonstrated strong academic achievement in High School
• Applicant to provide an essay with no more than 500 words. The essay should describe applicant's passion for teaching at the elementary and/or early childhood education level and applicants plan to teach after graduation.
• Selection preference will be given to applicants who are graduates of a high school from Kane,Clay, or Effingham Counties in the State of Illinois.
