Scholarship Purpose: The William and Nancy Yarger Nursing Leadership Endowed Scholarship was established in 2014 by William (Bill) and Nancy to support the development of student leaders in the undergraduate nursing program at Illinois State University. Bill Yarger graduated from University High School in 1964 and from Illinois State University in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration. Nancy graduated from Illinois State University in 1969 with a degree in family and consumer sciences. The purpose of the William and Nancy Yarger Nursing Leadership Endowed Scholarship is to provide financial support to one or more student leaders(s) from the Student Nursing Association (SNA) to help defray the costs of attending a regional or national leadership conference. The award is given in the spring of each semester, preferably to student(s) who will be serving in the College of Nursing as a class officer in the succeeding year.
