Willie Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Purpose: The Willie Brown Endowed Scholarship was established in 2010 by Willie Brown, M.S. '73, Business Administration. The purpose is to provide substantial financial support students majoring in Business at Illinois State. Brown began his career at State Farm in 1971 in the data processing department and retired in 2009 as Executive Vice President. Brown has been an active leader in the Bloomington-Normal community. At Illinois State University, he serves on the College of Business Advisory Council and the Alumni Network, and he has been inducted into two Halls of Fame.

• Preference shall be given to students active in one or both the following student organizations: Black Student Union or National Association of Black Accountants
• Submit an essay (300 word max) describing the importance and value of supporting diversity, specifically for black and non-traditional students, in the field of business.
• Need will be considered when two or more applicants have equal qualifications.
